Privacy policy

This policy applies to the Pace & Plate app for Android and paceandplate.pages.dev. In the app, Settings → About → Privacy policy opens this page. In short: your data is saved on your phone and backed up to your account so you don’t lose it. We don’t sell it, we don’t show ads, and there are no third-party analytics in v1. You can export it or delete it at any time.
  1. Stop 1

    Who we are

Pace & Plate is run by Harsh M., an independent developer based in India. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: paceandplate.app@gmail.com.

  2. Stop 2

    What we collect and why

Only what you enter or record in the app:

AccountEmail address; name and profile photo if you add them or sign in with Google.WhyTo sign you in and back up your data to your account.
Setup answersWhether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have (had) an eating disorder. (Under-18s are stopped on About you; their account holds only the sign-in email and can be deleted at paceandplate.pages.dev/delete.)WhyOnly to keep your targets safe: no calorie cut, or calorie numbers hidden.
Body numbersBirth date, sex (for the formula), height, weight, goal weight, waist, activity level.WhyTo work out your calorie and protein targets.
MealsFoods you create, meals you log, saved meals, meal times.WhyTo show calories and protein against your targets.
Weigh-insWeights and dates you enter.WhyTo show your trend and adjust targets at the Sunday check-in.
Runs and walksDate, duration, intervals, distance, pace, how it felt, and the GPS route.WhyTo track your plan level, show your history and route maps, and make a share image when you ask for one.
SettingsTraining days, running goal, reminder times, units.WhyTo run the plan the way you set it up.

Location is used only while you are recording a run or walk, including with the screen locked during that recording (shown by an ongoing notification). It is never collected at other times. You can also record without GPS (time only).

Body numbers, setup answers, weight and food logs are health data. We process them only to provide the app’s features, based on your explicit consent, which you give by ticking “I agree” on the setup step “A quick check” (the date is saved with your account) and can withdraw by deleting your account. Before that, Sign in links to this policy (“By continuing you agree to the Privacy policy”).

  3. Stop 3

    Where it is stored

    • On your phone, so the app works offline.
    • In your account backup, hosted by Supabase in India (Mumbai). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
    • Sign-in emails with your code are sent through Resend. If you choose Google sign-in, Google tells us your name, email and photo.
    • Maps: to draw streets behind your routes, the app loads map images from Google Maps. Those requests tell the provider which area is being shown, not who you are or your route.

These providers act only on our instructions and don’t use your data for themselves.

  4. Stop 4

    What we don’t do

    • We don’t sell or rent your data.
    • No ads and no advertising IDs.
    • No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs: none in v1. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
    • Your routes and numbers are never shared with other users, and nothing is posted anywhere for you.
    • Sharing is your choice: “Share this run” or “Share this walk” makes an image you send with your phone’s share sheet. It never includes weight, calories, meals, your name or health answers, and the map on it hides the first and last 200 m so it doesn’t show where you live.
  5. Stop 5

    How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. Signing out erases the data on your phone (the app warns you first if some changes aren’t backed up yet); uninstalling removes it too. Your backup stays in your account until you delete it.

  6. Stop 6

    Deleting your data

    • In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
    • On the web: paceandplate.pages.dev/delete, if you no longer have the app.
    • What is deleted: runs, walks and routes; meals, foods and saved meals; weigh-ins, waist and targets; profile, body numbers, setup answers and plan; your sign-in (Google or email).
    • Your account and data are deleted straight away and removed from backups within 30 days.
  7. Stop 7

    Your rights

You can see and export your data (Settings → Account → Export my data, a ZIP of spreadsheets and a JSON file), correct it in the app, delete it, or withdraw consent. You can also complain to your data-protection authority (in India, the Data Protection Board of India; in the EU or UK, your local authority).

  8. Stop 8

    Children

Pace & Plate is meant for adults aged 18 and over.

  9. Stop 9

    Not medical advice

Pace & Plate gives general guidance, not medical advice. The app says this in Settings → About and on the setup step “A quick check”.

  10. Stop 10

    Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app first.
